DIY Rain Gutter Bookshelves by Brittany

Picture
As an English major, I have books, lots and lots of books. The problem with that is that my bookcase is packed to maximum capacity so whenever I get more books, I have to get rid of old ones, which absolutely breaks my heart. The books are my babies. Since my room is small, there is no way for me to fit another bookcase in there. Instead, I made use of my wall space. I wanted to share this cheap and easy DIY with you guys today so you never have to abandon another book.

You will need:
Rain Gutters- 10 ft. (I went with the cheapest I could find)
A stud finder or a measuring tape
Screws
Screw Driver

I went down to Lowes and bought a rain gutter for about $5. I cut the gutter into 3 sections because I had originally wanted to put one on each wall, but when it came down to it, I like the way they ended up.

Cut the gutter into however many sections you want and then track down a stud finder.
*If you don't have a stud finder, starting at the corner of the wall, measure each 16 inches since the studs are spread apart 16 inches.*

With a helper, make sure your gutter is straight and screw in a screw wherever you previously found a stud. Hang up some pretty lights and enjoy knowing you'll never have to get rid of another book ever again.
